Luke West, a unique Nashville recording artist, originates from the colorful hills of Fayetteville, Arkansas. His music background began with parents, “Sarge” & Shirley West, renowned as the first black country music duet in the U.S. Luke West continues that tradition through his warm, rusty southern singing voice, his own unique original songwriting, and his respected recording of the #1 hit single “Sing Me Back Home,” originally recorded by Merle Haggard.

In the early eighties, West toured with the international singing troupe, Up With People, where he sang for Pope John Paul II and performed in over fifteen countries abroad. His first original band, Cotton Top, won first place in the three-day band contest Kutua Festival and Rodeo and opened for country music legend, Shenandoah.

In 2005, West was noted one of the top acoustic artists on the Mississippi coast after Hurricane Katrina. He’s opened for Johnny Rodriguez, Tracy Lawrence, Andy Griggs and CMT’s 2011 Next Superstar Winner, Matt Mason, among others.

In 2011, he moved to Ruidoso, NM to serve as Director of the NM-OATH Performing Arts Initiative of NM Organized Against Trafficking Humans where he raised funds and public awareness on behalf of victims of modern slavery.
